Discover the beautiful landscapes of the east of Madeira Island. Be amazed by Pico do Arieiro, the traditional houses of Santana and admire the famous Laurissilva Forest.
We’ll start our walk towards Pico do Areeiro. After a break to get to know the region, we’ll begin the journey down towards the Ribeiro Frio Natural Park, located in the middle of the Laurissilva Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Possibility of a short walk along a levada to the Balcões viewpoint (optional).
We’ll stop at a viewpoint in Faial to enjoy the fabulous views over the coast, and later, in Santana, you can see some of Madeira’s oldest houses, the famous traditional thatched huts. Free time for lunch.
In the afternoon, we’ll pass by the enchanting views of Portela, overlooking the village of Porto da Cruz, and the famous Pedra da Águia. Then we’ll head to Ponta de São Lourenço.
Finally, we’ll visit the historic town of Machico. End of our services.
