Full day tour of the Furnas Valley

Leaving Ponta Delgada, the first stop will be Vila Franca do Campo, the first capital of the island of São Miguel, located on the south coast. Here you can see the famous islet of Vila Franca with its crater inside.

Arriving at the Furnas lagoon, we will see some volcanic phenomena known as fumaroles and you will be able to observe the cooking method used for the traditional and tasty “Cozido das Furnas” (Furnas Stew), a gastronomic speciality of the Azores. Next, you can visit the Terra Nostra Park (optional) with the chance to try a thermal bath. Free time for lunch.

Still in the centre of Furnas, we will visit the “boilers” and “fumaroles”, as well as the different types of springs. Heading towards Ponta Delgada, along the north coast, we will stop at the Pico de Ferro viewpoint, from where you can see the Furnas lagoon and the town to which it belongs. On arrival in Ribeira Grande, we will visit the Gorreana Tea plantation and factory, where you can drink green or black tea.

The last stop will be at the Santa Iria viewpoint, where you can see a large part of the north coast. End of our services.
