A visit to Azores with a whale watching tour included

Upon your arrival at Ponta Delgada airport, our driver will give you a warm welcome and take you to your hotel. Check-in and accommodation in São Miguel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit a traditional pineapple plantation. Then, through the west coast of the island, we will reach the viewpoint of Pico de Carvão. The next stop will be Sete Cidades Lagoon. As we descend into the caldera, we can see another lagoon, Santiago Lagoon. Lunch in a regional restaurant.

Heading to the north coast, the tour will continue along the coast, where we will visit the historic center of Ribeira Grande. The last stop will be the Fogo Lagoon.

Return to Ponta Delgada along Pico da Barrosa to admire the view. Accommodation.

After breakfast, we will start our tour in Vila Franca do Campo, located on the south coast. Then we will arrive in the town of Furnas, famous for geysers and mineral sources. We will then arrive at the Furnas Lagoon, where the famous “Cozido” (typical stewed meat dish) is in fact cooked using only the steam from the boiling underground water. For lunch we will try the “Cozido” in a typical restaurant. We will visit Terra Nostra Park. At the end of your visit, you can have a bath in a pool of warm iron-rich water.

The next stop will at the only Tea Plantation in Europe, so we can visit the factory and have cup of tea. Finally, we will stop at the Santa Iria viewpoint to look out over the north coast.

Breakfast at the hotel. The day begins with a trip towards the North Coast making the first stop at Ribeira dos Caldeirões. Here, you will be enchanted by a beautiful waterfall, traditional watermills and beautiful gardens. Passing through the picturesque Vila do Nordeste towards the beautiful scenic viewpoints of Ponta do Sossego and Ponta da Madrugada, located on the eastern tip of the island, we will see the famous Arnel lighthouse.

Continue towards the village of Povoação where lunch will be served, passing through Faial da Terra. In the afternoon, a guided tour of the historic center of Vila da Povoação and the fishing port, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the area. Accommodation in São Miguel. Accommodation.

Breakfast at the hotel. We will begin this half-day tour with a cetacean observation trip. We will have the opportunity to meet and admire marine mammals in their natural habitat, such as whales and dolphins. Using the technique of strategically placed lookouts on the south coast of the island, our boats set off to meet these unique animals.
