Visit Porto, the Douro Valley, Braga and Guimarães

After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll head out to discover the city of Porto.

We begin with an introduction to the majestic Cathedral and enter the famous São Bento Station, known for its impressive tile panels depicting moments in Portugal’s history.

We continue along the emblematic Avenida dos Aliados, where the guide will highlight some of the city’s most iconic landmarks: the imposing Clérigos Tower, the Congregados Church, the symbolic statue of D. Pedro IV, the historic McDonald’s and Porto City Hall.

Next, we’ll explore the authenticity of the Bolhão Market, known for its traditional and vibrant atmosphere. Afterwards, we’ll continue along the emblematic Rua de Santa Catarina, with a stop at the historic and elegant Café Majestic, before heading to Praça da Batalha.

We will then cross the river to Vila Nova de Gaia, where we will visit the famous wineries and enjoy a delicious tasting of the famous Port wine.

The last stop will be Alfândega do Porto, just a 10-minute walk from the picturesque Ribeira, where you can continue to explore the charm of this riverside city.

We start our journey at São Bento station. Travel comfortably towards the Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An enchanting landscape where green and gold intertwine, revealing nature in its pure essence!

The Douro region is known for producing excellent wines, including the famous Port wine, which has been cultivated for over 2,000 years.

Our first stop is Amarante, an important town in Christian history after the arrival of São Gonçalo. Explore the convent, the church and the charms of the historic center. We continue our day with a stop at the Galafura viewpoint, 640 meters above sea level, with a breathtaking view of the Douro River and the surrounding landscape.

After contemplating the view, we’ll enjoy a traditional lunch, tasting the best of Douro cuisine. We continue to Pinhão, one of the region’s most charming villages, where we take a 1-hour panoramic cruise along the Douro River, admiring the vineyards and natural landscapes.

We end the day with a visit to a renowned winery, where we can taste excellent regional wines and learn about the Port wine production process.

At the end of the day, we return to Porto. Accommodation.

We started with a visit to the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte, famous for its impressive staircase, which symbolizes the sacred path.

We then head down to the center of Braga for a walking tour, where you can admire the exterior of iconic monuments such as the old Episcopal Palace, the Porta Nova Arch, the Santa Bárbara Garden, the Castle Fountain, among others, culminating in a visit to the Cathedral, the oldest in Portugal.

After some free time, during which you can enjoy a delicious lunch (not included), the tour continues to Guimarães, the cradle of Portugal. There, we will explore its impressive historic center, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour includes a visit to the imposing Guimarães Castle.

At the end of the day, we return to Porto. Accommodation.
