Itinerary

Our tour begins in Lisbon. We will start by exploring the Alfama neighbourhood, visiting Lisbon Cathedral and the Castle of São Jorge (visit to the castle included), both with historical connections to the Knights Templar. Free time.

In the afternoon, we will go to the magnificent National Archaeological Museum to see the artefacts of the Knights Templar. Finally, you will visit the Jeronimos Monastery (included), linked to the Order of Christ.

Accommodation at the hotel in Lisbon.
Breakfast at the hotel. We will leave for the Convent of Christ in the city of Tomar, headquarters of the Knights Templar in Portugal (entrance included). Explore the “Charola”, a unique octagonal church!

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Mata dos Sete Montes (Seven Hills Forest) for an open-air templar experience. We will also visit the Pegões aqueduct.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Batalha, Portuguese city, where we will visit its monastery, a magnificent Gothic building built in the 14th century to commemorate the Portuguese victory in the Battle of Aljubarrota. Explore its architectural and historical details.

In the afternoon, we will travel to another Portuguese city to discover a new monastic building in Portugal: the Monastery of Alcobaça. It is famous for its imposing architecture and for the story linked to the tragic love between King Pedro I and Inês de Castro.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Tomar for a new destination. We will visit Almourol Castle, a medieval fortress located on a small island in the Tagus River, associated with the Order of the Knights Templar. Discover its strategic location and impressive architecture.

In the afternoon, we’ll continue on to Santarém, where you’ll find the Convent of St Francis, where the Knights Templar were present. Explore the Seminary Church.
