Itinerary

  • DAY 1 LISBON (ARRIVAL)

Upon arrival at the airport, our driver will give you a warm welcome and take you to your hotel. Check-in and accommodation in Lisbon.

  • DAY 2 BUCELAS

Breakfast at the hotel. Close to the Tagus estuary, protected by a series of small mountains, Bucelas is a small wine-growing region that surrounds the town of the same name. The vines are planted mainly on clay soils and this wine was recognized internationally with the help of the Duke of Wellington at the beginning of the 19th century and became a popular drink in London.

We will visit a local winery, a 27-hectare wine estate. It produces white wine (DOC Bucelas) and red wine from the Lisbon region. This winery is part of the Wine Route and is considered one of the best wine destinations with a unique landscape.

At the end of the day, return to Lisbon. Accommodation.

  • DAY 3 ALENTEJO | SETÚBAL PENINSULA

Breakfast at the hotel. We started our journey by crossing the Tagus River Estuary and discovering the breathtaking landscape of the Alentejo. This sunny, warm and dry region allows the grapes, planted on the steep mountain slopes, to ripen perfectly. Having been a demarcated region since 1988, the white wines are generally soft, slightly acidic, with aromas of tropical fruit, while the red wines are fleshy, rich in tannins and with aromas of red and wild fruit. We visit one of the region’s most renowned estates, where we will learn more about wine production and taste its delicious wines.

After lunch, we crossed the Alentejo plain again to the Setúbal Peninsula. We believe that this is the cradle of the first vineyards planted on the Iberian Peninsula (around 4000 years ago), with wines of remarkable quality. From the sweet floral notes of Moscatel de Setúbal to the sublime, well-structured aromas of Palmela, these wines gained great prestige and importance in the last decades of the 20th century. Before leaving for Lisbon, we will visit a wine cellar and at the end of the visit we will have time for a wine tasting.

At the end of the day, return to Lisbon. Accommodation.

  • DAY 4 BAIRRADA | DÃO REGION | DOURO VALLEY

Breakfast at the hotel. You will visit a wine cellar in Bairrada, a region of gentle, sunny and muddy hills, whose natural boundaries are the sandy seashore and the Bussaco and Caramulo mountains. It is home to fine wines made from high-quality grape varieties, such as the traditional Baga for red wines and Bical for white wines. The wine cellars have more than 75 years of history to uncover and to learn more about the delicious wines that are produced there.

After lunch, we’ll head to the Dão region. This region is surrounded by mountains and is protected by both the influence of the continental climate and the cold, oceanic rains. Its vines are made up of several varieties of grapes. We highlight Nacional Touriga and Tinta Roriz for red wines, known for their robust, aromatic and complex body after ageing in the bottle, and Encruzado for white nectars, which are very aromatic, balanced and fruity. In the Dão region, we will visit another winery, founded in 1942 and one of the oldest wineries in this region.

At the end of the day, we will travel to the Douro region. Accommodation.

  • DAY 5 DOURO WINE REGION

After breakfast, we will start exploring the Douro Wine Region!

We will pass through Peso da Régua, famous for its landscapes with vineyards lining the banks of the Douro River. This region is considered one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the world (dating back to 1756) and is famous for its incredible landscapes, the magnificent Douro River and the famous Port wine, the main ambassador for Portuguese wines.

Next, we will go to Pinhão. Private visit to two wineries with wine tasting.

At the end of the day, we will travel to Porto. Accommodation.

  • DAY 6 PORTO

Breakfast at the hotel. During this day, we will get to know the city of Porto, since the history of the acclaimed wine is deeply linked to this charming city. In the past, the wine was stored in wooden barrels and transported downriver in the typical Rabelo boats, from the Douro vineyards to the cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, where it rested, aged and gained all its merit.

We will take a guided tour of the most typical and characteristic streets of the city of Porto. During our visit to Porto’s tourist sites, we will visit the city’s most emblematic monuments such as the Cathedral, the Church of S. Francisco, the Lello bookshop and the Clérigos Tower, ending with a Port wine tasting at the famous Port Wine Cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia.

    Accommodation in Porto.

  • DAY 7 MINHO | PORTO

Breakfast at the hotel. On this last day, we will travel through Portugal’s northernmost wine region: the Minho region. Its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean makes its land incredibly fertile for both agriculture and viticulture. This is where soft green wine stands out.

During this day, we will visit two famous green wine wineries in this region. Our first stop will be at a winery producing green wine. The owners began bottling the green wine produced on the estate from an early stage, thus making the estate a pioneer in this practice throughout the region. After enjoying a visit to the winery with wine tasting, our next stop will be one of the best-known wineries in Portugal. Family-owned for generations, it has gained international renown and has been considered a national monument since 1910.

    Return to Porto and accommodation.

  • DAY 8 RETURN

After breakfast at the hotel, our driver will take you to the airport at the agreed time. End of our services.
